Strainers for Industrial Pipeline Filtration and Valve Protection
Strainer
The strainer is a fluid protection device installed upstream of a valve, designed to remove impurities and solid particles from liquids or gases in pipelines, preventing damage to the valve and downstream equipment. It typically features a basket strainer or Y-strainer design, equipped with a cleanable or replaceable perforated screen or mesh filter to ensure stable fluid flow. Made from stainless steel or carbon steel, the inlet strainer offers corrosion resistance, high pressure, and high temperature durability, making it suitable for industrial pipeline systems such as chemical processing, oil and gas, water treatment, and steam systems. Its design allows for easy maintenance and cleaning while maintaining high flow capacity and reliable operation, serving as an essential component for protecting valves and downstream equipment.
A filter is a pipeline accessory used to remove solid impurities from fluids, typically installed at the inlet of pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valves, constant water level valves, and other equipment. It protects process equipment and specialized pipe fittings (such as compressors, pumps, fuel nozzles, steam traps, etc.) by preventing debris from entering, which could damage components or clog fittings, thereby ensuring stable process operation and safe production. MECCO filters are designed according to HG/T 21637 and can also be customized per customer-specified standards.
