From November 6 to November 7, 2024, the technical achievement appraisal meeting for two independently developed products by Shanghai Meike Valve Co., Ltd.—a cryogenic ball valve for liquefied natural gas (NPS10 Class1500) and a cryogenic butterfly valve (NPS24 Class1500)—was held in Shanghai. The meeting was organized by the China General Machinery Industry Association. The appraisal expert panel consisted of 11 experts from the China Machinery Industry Federation, Hefei General Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd., School of Petrochemical Engineering of Lanzhou University of Technology, Sinopec Guangzhou Engineering Co., Ltd., Sinopec Engineering Construction Co., Ltd., Sinopec Tianjin LNG Project Department, China Huanqiu Engineering Co., Ltd., Kunlun Energy Liquefied Natural Gas Co., Ltd., and Beijing Gas (Tianjin) Natural Gas Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, the appraisal committee experts and representatives inspected the prototypes and the production test site, witnessed part of the performance tests of the product prototypes, listened to the development summary report presented by the developer, and reviewed relevant documents on design, manufacturing, testing, inspection, and quality assurance. After inquiry and discussion, it was concluded that both developed products possess independent intellectual property rights, and their main performance indicators have reached the advanced level of similar international products. It was recommended that these products be further promoted and applied.
